Challenges
Though the design of the bottle was straightforward, they faced two major challenges in its production:
- Thermal Shrinkage Consistency:The thermal contraction inconsistencies around the neck of the bottle during the annealing process resulted in sealing instability when the pipettes were fitted.
- Chemical Resistance of Decorative Coatings:Besides the frosted finish and printed logo, they had to be resistant to exposure to the essential oils and botanical extracts which, if not, would dissolve or dull the surface finish.

Cause Analysis
After the detailed process audit, the technical team came to the conclusion that the root causes were temperature and annealing and that incomplete crosslinking in the decorative coating caused the problem. To solve these problems, they changed the heating curve in the annealing furnace, changed the air circulation pattern, and changed the coating mixture by using a more resistant, oil-resistant binder system. The continuous communication with the customer allowed us to meet the visual and tactile expectations without any compromise of chemical durability.

Solution
- They stabilized neck shrinkage rates through very detailed thermal mapping within a tolerance of ±0.05 mm.
- They perfected the dual-layer coating technique that combines acid-etched frosting with a UV-curable surface to protect the latter.
- The actual client serum formulations were used in the chemical immersion testing to verify the coating resistance.
- They fully optimized the neck dimensioning so that during pipette assembly the seal pass rate was 100%.
Result
The end product was outstanding in terms of its transparency, flawless sealing functionality, and the coating’s strengthened resistance. The frosted glass stayed soft and smooth even after it had been in contact with the essential oils for a while.
