If the spray head is tightly screwed, you can gently shake it from side to side first to loosen the connection between the spray head and the bottle body slightly, and then turn it to open it easily.

The spray heads of some perfume bottles are installed in a plug – in manner. Place the perfume bottle steadily on a tabletop, hold the spray head with your fingers, and pull it vertically upward gently. If the spray head is tight, you can put a soft cloth or tissue between your fingers and the spray head to increase the friction and then pull. Be careful to apply even force to avoid breaking the spray head.

(III) Snap - on Perfume Bottles

The spray heads or caps of such perfume bottles are fixed by snaps. Locate the snap position, usually at the connection between the cap or the spray head and the bottle body, where there are small protrusions or depressions. Use a small tool like a screwdriver to gently insert it into the snap gap and pry it in the opening direction. At the same time, hold the bottle body with your other hand to prevent it from shaking. Pay attention to the prying force to avoid damaging the bottle or the snap.

For old – fashioned glass perfume bottles, the caps and the bottle mouths are often stuck together by oily perfume. Prepare a rubber band and a wrench. First, tightly wrap the rubber band around the cap to increase the friction. If you still can’t open it, fix the wrench on the side of the cap with the rubber band and turn the wrench forcefully to open it.

Among these types, screw – on perfume bottles are the simplest and most straightforward to open. You just need to turn the cap or the spray head, and no complex tools are required. Sealing it again is also convenient; you just need to turn it clockwise to tighten. Perfume bottles with detachable pump – sprayers are also relatively easy to operate. Their pump – sprayers can be removed by turning or pulling, which is convenient for refilling.

2. Steps to Refill Perfume Bottles

(I) Preparation Work

  1. Cleaning Tools: Prepare clean cloths or tissues to wipe the perfume bottle and tools. If you need to clean the perfume bottle, also prepare cleaning supplies such as water, dish soap, white vinegar, or baking soda.
  2. Filling Tools: Depending on the opening type of the perfume bottle and the filling method, prepare tools such as droppers, syringes, funnels, or special perfume extractors.
  3. Perfume: Prepare the perfume you want to refill. It can be the same as the original perfume or another one you like.

(II) Cleaning the Perfume Bottle

  1. Pour out the Remaining Perfume: If there is still some perfume left in the bottle, carefully suck it out with a dropper or syringe and store it in another container.
  2. Clean the Perfume Bottle: Rinse the inside of the bottle with water to remove residual perfume and impurities. If the smell is strong, soak it with a small amount of dish soap, white vinegar, or baking soda, and then rinse it thoroughly with water.
  3. Dry the Perfume Bottle: Place the cleaned perfume bottle upside – down on a clean cloth or tissue to air – dry naturally. You can also use a hair dryer on the cold – air setting to dry it, ensuring that there is no moisture left inside the bottle.

(III) Refilling the Perfume

  1. Using a Dropper to Refill: Insert the dropper into the opening of the perfume bottle, slowly suck up the perfume, and then drip it into the bottle. Control the dripping speed and amount to avoid spillage. Repeat the operation until the desired capacity is reached.
  2. Using a Syringe to Refill: Slowly draw up the perfume to prevent air bubbles. Insert the syringe needle into the gap of the spray head interface of the perfume bottle or directly into the bottle to inject the perfume. Make sure to inject all the perfume before pulling out the needle.
  3. Using a Funnel to Refill: If the opening of the perfume bottle is large, use a funnel to refill. Insert the funnel into the bottle opening and slowly pour in the perfume. Observe carefully to prevent spillage.
  4. Using a Perfume Extractor to Refill: Remove the small lid at the spray head of the perfume bottle, insert the extractor needle into the tube, and draw the perfume by pulling. Then remove the cap of another perfume bottle that needs to be refilled and align the tube opening to pour in the perfume.

(IV) Sealing and Inspection

  1. Sealing the Perfume Bottle: After filling, install the spray head or cap correctly to ensure a good seal. Screw – on caps should be tightened clockwise, and plug – in spray heads should be inserted vertically.
  2. Checking for Leaks: Place the perfume bottle flat on a tabletop and observe for a while to check if there is any perfume leakage. You can also gently shake the perfume bottle to check the sealing condition again.
