Challenges

Solution

To address the challenges we examined, we did the following:

Controlled Temperature In-Furnace – There were new monitoring tools introduced to the furnace, these helped add stability to the melting process.
Controlled Cooling Curves – We adjusted the Annealing process to manage even cooling so that there would be no distortions or stress marks.
Quality Improvements – We added more levels of optical inspection to the process to catch and eliminate defective pieces before they reached the final point in production.
Collaborative Prototyping – We did small pilot runs on glass with the client viewing, and we collaborated the glass pilot with the clients input before we scaled to full production.
