Our Challenges
Prototypes revealed critical flaws: pump dispensers clogged after 5-6 uses (failing to dispense thick foundation), glass had faint scratches from production (undermining the “premium” look), and foil logos peeled off when bottles were wiped. These issues threatened to hurt sales, as UK shoppers associate glass cosmetic bottles with quality.
Root Cause Analysis
Our team identified the problems: pumps clogged due to narrow internal tubes (1.2mm) that couldn’t handle thick formulas; scratches formed because glass wasn’t polished post-molding; logos peeled because the foil adhesive wasn’t heat-cured, so it couldn’t bond to smooth glass.
Our Solution
To fix the glass cosmetic bottles, we widened pump tubes to 1.5mm and tested 30 samples with the client’s foundation. We added a post-molding diamond-polishing step to eliminate scratches. For logos, we switched to heat-cured foil adhesive and added a clear topcoat, ensuring durability.
Results
The final glass cosmetic bottles meet all the standards: smooth pump, scratch-free glass and intact logo. Customer’s makeup line promoted 28% sales, with customers praised “luxurious, easy-use” bottles.
